Japanese and Cake

Aaahhh!! My blog is never gonna catch up to my life!!

Mom frosted this cake. And then I decorated it. I was actually disappointed with the end result, but the candles made it look a little better. I need to find some better way to decorate cakes... cuz a plain cake isn't quite as fun/tasty. But my decoratin' skillz are lame.

Candle forest...

And finally, I give you Sakura Japanese Steakhouse! Pretty much it's a hibachi grill place, but they supposedly also have a sushi bar. The outside of this one in Laurel was really pretty awesome. It looked like a Japanese.. diner.. though, lol. But the designs were really interesting. The hibachi meal consists of: Shoyu Onion Soup, Sakura Salad, assorted vegetables, steamed or fried rice, your choice of appetizer (chicken livers/sauteed mushrooms/teppanyaki shrimp flambe), and an entree (veggies/chicken/steak/various seafoods/some combination of the former).

Shoyu Onion Soup

Fairly good.

Sakura Salad

I really like their dressing, but they drowned the salad in it. Anyway, it's pretty much a salad of greens with tasty salad sauce.

Assorted Veggies

I was gonna take a picture of the mushrooms but I felt bashful about taking pics at first.

Sesame Chicken

So I was overall unenthused.. I think cuz this had recently opened in Laurel. Maybe it'll improve.

I was most excited to go back to the house and have CAAAAAAAAAKE!!!! The recipe was some random one online that my mom chose. With chocolate frosting.

Uh... that's basically it! Look, leftovers:

The rice and bean sprouts seemed to get even better overnight lol. But the chicken got worse (drier). Boooo.

This is how much cake WE had left!

Mata ne!!
