Simply Tasting

My mom saved me some Tastefully Simple pumpkin bread and apple cake to try.

I had a little piece of the apple cake. It was kinda.. too sweet. It had a weird sugar crunch to it, which might be fine with a less potent sweet flavor. I dunno, I'm not good at explaining tastes. The pumpkin bread was pretty good; I added a little Chai Whip to some, though besides a slight tan color and added flavor there wasn't much difference from regular cool whip. I think I woulda preferred it actually.

Above are desserts my mom brought home. Some of the apple cake was left and there was a Cinnamon Cake, along with an Almond Pound cake/Truffle Fudge Brownie duo (actually two mixes layered together). And those are shown below :D.

My mom was somewhat enamored with the cinnamon cake lol, she really liked it. It was nice and light, but not too light, and the cinnamon topping was really tasty!! But I think I preferred the other JUST because it has chocolate in it lol. But it was really good too. Both the pound cake and brownie portions were... though I'd have been happy if it were just the brownie. I love chocolate.

Tastefully Simple

My mom made some Tastefully Simple desserts for some function where a woman she knows from the company was selling them. Anyway, she made a Pumpkin Bread (and added white chocolate chips! - I added a pic of the choc. chips bag cuz it reminds me of Elvis) and an Apple Cake. Also mixed this Chai stuff with off-brand cool whip.

Pumpkin Bread

Apple Cake

'Chai' Whip

And after all that, these first two pictures are the plates for the party-thing. #1 is the sliced pumpkin bread spiraling out of control. #2 is the apple cake cut into cute little squares, (empty bowl for cool whip).

And bleh I'm done.

Spoiler: I Survived!

W... T... FFFFFF. My computer screen has been going CUH-RAZY!! It's flickering in horizontal bars to no end. Sometimes it'll be more subdued, but five seconds later it's an epileptic's worst nightmare. Anyway, it's driving me nuts and making me scared. I want to blog a little, but can I survive this annoyance? We'll soon see...

First, some leftover pizza. How exciting I can't contain myself. -_-

And some strawberries.

And here's my kitty cat. Well, 1 of 3.

5pm: Gilmore Girls and cross-stitching.

Pizza and Movies

How come sometimes all pictures turn out crappy, but other times they all turn out great? And I use different camera settings and everything, but sometimes they all look appetizing and stuff like they should... other times they have gross lighting, are blurry, etc. Fortunately this was one of those not-so-bad times. Unfortunately it's just Pizza Hut pizza and breadsticks.

Their breadstick seasoning is yum. But the bread seemed.. slightly different maybe. Well, maybe not. But the dipping sauce DEFINITELY was. Can you say much too sweet? It's just not the regular tangy sauce like it should be. Whazzup wit that?

Pizza with black olives, green pepper and tomato (i.e. same as we usually get). No the pizza is not dying. It's just one of those weird camera settings.

Let's have a pop culture time! I'll cover my recent rentals from Blockbuster.

Amélie. Just watched this one last night. It was.. interesting. I was expecting it to be something amazing because it seems to get such positive reviews, but it didn't especially move affect. It was good, don't get me wrong. And cute. And definitely unique. All good things! But, at least not yet, it's not a new favorite or anything. Just a new quirky movie experience. I should give it another chance some day.

Curse of the Golden Flower. Kind of a typical Chinese movie. But it was good and enjoyable. The set design and costumes were all very nice! I was mostly blown away by the set!! So rainbowy and pretty. So yes - it was worth a watch and maybe even a purchase, but it's not my personal favorite.

Gladiator. Of course, many people have already seen it. But my two cents is that it's deserving of the attention! Very good film.

Shamelessly Promoting

What's the point? I dunno. To show off how much Starbucks I drink? Or how pathetic I am that I take so many pictures of it?

I just finished playing Nancy Drew and the Legend of the Crystal Skull this afternoon.... I started it last night. Of course, I can't figure out half the weirdo clues they put in those games (although this did seem little more practical actually) so I just cheated some. No biggie. Mostly for the weird puzzles that make no sense (to me) otherwise. But it was a relatively short and easy game. 'Twas fine but not very engaging compared to other ND games. At least there wasn't a bunch of "WTF do I do?!" and time sensitivity. Actually.. nothing was time sensitive. You just had to avoid getting bitten by the spider/alligator.

Let's see.. new episode of America's Next Top Model and Gossip Girl tonight. Gossip Girl is just addictive, certainly a guilty pleasure show. Booo no Project Runway til mid-November.

Aisukuriimu

That's ice cream in romaji! lol. Yes, today is a day of Edy's special ice cream flavors.

Oooooh and secondly!!!! I just got Jimmy Eat World's new album, "Chase This Light". Of course I don't know all the songs yet, but I pretty much love it so far. Can't wait to actually learn the lyrics and sing along ^_^. I LOVE singing JEW songs. About as much as I love singing J-pop (and that's a good amount).

Isn't it the BEST when you eat a food that you really, really want? Either you were craving it or you take a bite and it's just what you needed?!

Okay! Time for the ice creams! I actually have to thank some other blogger for posting about the Apple Pie flavor (don't remember where..) because otherwise I'd still be oblivious to these Limited Editions and totally miss out! So there's Pumpkin, Apple Pie, and Thin Mint.

So let me review...

Apple Pie: Only available in regular (140 cals per serving isn't that bad anyway). It's good.. really soft consistency, which is nice for right-out-of-the-freezer action. Flavor's good also, mix-ins.. not so much. It has little apple pieces, kinda like apple jelly or something only a little more tough. I don't like these much, I'd rather avoid them. Then there are pie crust chunks - small ones, and very few of them unfortunately. More of those and less apple jelly would make this better.

Pumpkin: Just plain pumpkin ice cream. It's pretty good. I mean, it's a little plain for me. My soul desired some chocolate.. or at least something crunchy or chewy in it. But flavor-wise it's good and I was glad to taste it. I could've done with less though.

The Thin Mint tasted a lot like mint chocolate chip and the like... but there's something about it. There must be, because we bought more today (and I had a dream about eating it). It does have a Thin Mint taste to it. It has cookie mixed in - not chunks per se, but an all-throughout cookie additive. I think that's why I like it, the allover cookie is pretty good (and a more concentrated chocolate flavor than sporadic chocolate chips as in mint choco chip).

Anyway, I got the Pumpkin and TM in Slow Churned. I think the TM only comes in Slow Churned..? Either way, guessing they taste pretty much the same. There's also a Peppermint flavor which I have not tried. I may.. or may not.

And that's my ice cream review for the day!! Ittedakimasu!

Candystuffs

Goetze's Caramel Creams. It was really weird, the first time I tried one I HATED it (thought it was way too sweet and.. I dunno, weird) but now I really like them. Maybe I acquired a taste for the cream?

And then we have Chocolate Frogs! From Honeydukes!! (or Target)
It kinda freaked me out when I realized they had VEINS in them! Haha. Well, their rice crunch stuff was blue and red, but who knows why. To make it more groooosssssss?

My Grandma also brought us some candystuffs. As in.. extra Halloween candy that apparently she won't need for Halloween. Sparkly!

We're gonna dance on fire!

Apparently my blog isn't very popular. Which is why I put a totally exclusive vid up!! Well, no. It's my newest AMV though, to the anime "Pretear" and song "Le Disko" by Shiny Toy Guns. Now, I think I could do better, but the video clips were kinda messed up so it was frustrating enough to have to work with that. There were some parts that almost serendipitously matched up though!! (Warning: f-word in video. I use the f-word in my blog though so it's already tainted.)

Anime: Pretear
Music: Le Disko by Shiny Toy Guns

And here's some spaghetti!
Eat it (eat it), eat it (eat it). Open up your mouth and feed it!

BLOGGING, KA-BOOM!!!

SANDWICH, POW!!!

DINNER, WHAM!!!

First was a chicken breast with lemon herb peppercorn marinade.

Followed by creamy, fluffy mashed potatoes and emerald green peas!

And everything goes exquisitely with some tangy, vibrant red ketchup!!
(I think I'm in a weird mood.)

Out 'n About

For some reason, I'm really anxious right now and feel like I NEED to make another post on here!! I don't know why, but here goes.

We're going back to September 28th! When life was... more Septembery.

In the morning my I went to Target. Not with a stupid accent (Tar-jay). Just Target.

So, things I bought: Heroes season 1, some batteries, this long blue sweatshirt, and the following..

Chococat notebook — for cuteness!
Highlighters — for marking my cross-stitch charts.

&

Sweater tunics — for wearing with other shirts and looking cute hopefully.

We then got me some Starbucks. Iced Caramel Macchiato, you are an excellent creation!

Thennn my sister came over and we picked up food from Panera! What fun, what fun. I had a half Tomesto Chicken sandwich and Orchard Harvest salad. With the whole-g baguette.

And (*drumroll*) more Starbucks! I was still really full, so I actually got a "short" (8 oz) Pumpkin Spice Latte. First and only time that's happened lol. It even makes the Tall look tall! Well, tall-er.

Nothin' Special

I wonder if I'm OCD or just weirdly organized. Everything has to be alphabetical. And I record everything I eat as accurately as possible. And on my calendar - I write down a general summary of what I did each day.

Above pictures are of a salad I crafted at home. It looks fine, but I remember it tasting kinda blah. Probably cuz the dressing sucked. Don't try those shitty sprays! They don't spray even, they squirt like a squirt gun. And to your left and right are pictures of a Breyers Cookies & Cream 100 cal. cup that was predictably mediocre.

I'll leave you for now. Maybe another post later tonight... I'm watching ANTM now, and then Gossip Girl and the Top Chef reunion thing. My life is so exciiiiitingggg, not.

Banana-nana fo-fanna

This was from one of the best bunches of bananas ever!

OMG! Well, I'm being a lame-ass watching MTV.. but I'm actually quite enjoying it lol. First they were showing some ANTM episodes that I've somehow never seen (even though I watched the whole freakin' marathon back in January), which was fine. Then they showed... oh, gosh.. Shot at Love with Tila Tequila. Basically it's The Bachelorette with men and women. And it was actually kind of entertaining. BUT THEN!!!!! There was a news thing about Peter Jackson and New Line Cinema not definitely but more than likely making a Hobbit movie!!! And probably with some of the LotR actors!!!!

Sugoi, ne?!
